In the Fall of 2015 Terry asked me to be the English Discipline Representative as we underwent a process of reflection on our practice. Myself, along with Karen, Elena, Allison, Ian, and KP addressed several recommendations outlined by the SLT related to evaluating and revising our curriculum where necessary .
The discipline spent many hours reflecting on our practice, archiving the many unique lessons and projects we do with students and discussing the direction we hoped to see the discipline head. We also, naturally, incorporated having drinks together at the College Inn Pub after meeting with members of the Writing Center at the University of Washington. It was the first time I began to see more clearly the progression of our pedagogy from the middle school to the upper school.
This collaboration continued with the 9-10 humanities redesign seminar, and with our current Academic Design Group.
